One way to develop a company’s operations is to offer training for the organisation, its employees or management. Training improves the personnel’s skills and the organisation’s competitive edge.

The free-of-charge entrepreneur training programmes of the Public Employment and Business Services Centre (TE Office)  are a useful and popular means with which to start business operations.

The nationwide Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) organize training for SME management and key persons. These training programmes are, in particular, designed for companies that are planning the development of their business operations. The ELY Centres offer more information on this type of training.

The Finnish National Agency for Education website offers general information on training programmes and education in Finland.

Vantaa Vocational College Varia offers the opportunity to complete work-oriented studies. At the moment, however, programmes in English are only available in the restaurant and catering business sector. Varia also offers companies customized training.  Mercuria Business School also offers companies customized training.

Both Metropolia University of Applied Sciences as well as Laurea University of Applied Sciences  work in close cooperation with companies. Students’ final projects that are commissioned by companies, practical training, and various types of cooperation with companies are beneficial to both students as well as to entrepreneurs.
